Lector and Eucharistic Ministry
Minister of Word
Minister of Word proclaims the Scriptures at Mass, helping the community encounter God through His Word.
Those who wish to be involved in this ministry must be a fully initiated Catholic, in good standing with the Church, 18 years old or older; have a clear speaking voice, be confident when reading in front of people and attend Mass regularly.
All Minister of Word are to complete a program of formation run by the diocese. The names of all persons serving in this ministry, are submitted to the Diocese of Hamilton, and in turn receive an official three year mandate (renewable) to serve at St. Andrew from the Bishop.
If you are of high school age and younger, our children’s choir has an excellent training program for proclaiming the WORD.
Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion
This dedicated group distributes Holy Communion at Mass. Those who wish to become involved in this ministry must be at least 18 years of age, be a fully initiated Catholic, in good standing with the Church, and attend Mass regularly. Training is required. All Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion are to complete a program of formation run by the diocese.
The names of all persons serving in this ministry, are submitted to the Diocese of Hamilton and in turn receive an official three year mandate to serve in our parish only, from the Bishop.
