A Letter from the Pastor: November 13 Important COVID updates
Good evening everyone.
I was not expecting to have to write a letter this weekend. However, in light of the announcement that Halton moves into the Red classification on Monday I thought it might be important to update you on what we know so far and how it impacts St. Andrew’s.
Because these new rules do not take effect until Monday, First Communion and the memorial Mass for John Piotrowski take place as planned tomorrow. Mass for the weekend is also going ahead as planned and the baptism on Sunday afternoon is also scheduled to take place. For activities on the following weekend, November 21 and 22, we will make a final decision early next week.
Either provincial or local health authorities may further reduce the number of people who can attend Mass. That will not become clear until next week if it is under review. We will keep the church open during the week but reduce the hours from 9.00 to noon (1.00 pm. on Tuesday).
Please keep our nursing homes and care for our seniors in your prayers. We have received many requests for prayer for the residents and staff of Wyndam Manor where they are experiencing a number of Covid 19 infections and have had one death.
We will keep you up to date as things develop further. Let us all pray for the patience and resilience that we need to bring those numbers down and keep each other safe.
